And so ends the Good Round. With Caps-Pens and Preds-Jets over, the funnest and rightest round of the playoffs is no more, and now we’re left with two inferior series to watch. Still, there’s two cinderellas still at the ball, and it’s time to make predictions.

Haaaaaave you met Keith, a Coin?

Keith, a Coin, is a 1990 quarter minted in Pennsylvania. He is the Son of Keith, a Coin I. He is right half of the time.

Winnipeg 🛩 vs Vegas ⚔

Peter: My heart and head collide here. In spite of myself, I’ve become a believer in the Knights. I like their speed and their doggedness. I like Fleury, and this Schmidt person is growing on me. But I can’t picture them defeating the Jets, who have every skill the Knights do except better. They’ve got a Scheifele to Vegas’ Karlsson. They’ve got a Myers to Vegas’ Miller. I think MAF is a better backstop than Hellebuyck though, so I think it’ll be close. I hope I’m wrong, but: Winnipeg in 6.

Ian: The Vegas Golden Knights are a quick strike team. They feast on opposing team’s mistakes and can bury their opponents in goals in a blink of an eye. I thought Vegas was good enough to get this far, but I was skeptical it’d actually happen. Now that we’re here, you have to think they’re the favorites. Sure Winnipeg beat a very good Nashville Predators team, and Patrik Laine is becoming a legend in front our eyes, but with how Marc-Andre Fleury is playing, I’m not sure they have the fire power and secondary scoring to take this series. Overall I think the Golden Knights are the better team and perhaps most importantly, will be the less nervous team – there are literally no expectations. I actually don’t think this series will be close and Winnipeg will have to go back to the Hellebuyck they came from. Vegas in 5.

Keith: Vegas.

Washington 🇺🇸 vs  Tampa ⚡

Peter: It’s been a good run for the Caps so far. The Bolts will be the best team they’ve faced, and it would take near-perfect matchups to take ’em down. Orlov vs Kucherov, Carlson vs Johnson, Holtby vs Vasilevskiy. It’s a tall order, but I think the Caps can keep those battles tight enough to let special teams decide the series – which would require them to keep their butts out of the box. That’s key for me. Washington in 6.

Ian: I think this series is going to be both wildly entertaining and go the distance. Tampa Bay is arguably the best team left in the postseason. I think the Capitals will be maddened by Vasilevskiy throughout the series just like the Bolts will be stymied and frustrated by the Holtbeast. Because of both teams’ offensive potential, I think each team will blow each other out in a game or two, but I think it will be the Capitals who will own the big moments in the close games. At this point, they’re just playing with house money and for this iteration of the Capitals, I think that’s going to be a very good thing. Washington in 7. Let’s do it, Caps!

Keith: Tampa.
