The Caps are out, but the drama continues.
Here’s how we did last round:
- Peter: 3 for 4
- Keith, a Coin: 2 for 4
- Ian: 4 for 4 oh bravo you special little snowflake you picked against the Caps aren’t you so clever hold on let me put an applause gif in here
Now for the Conference Finals.
Keith, a 2014 Philadelphia-minted quarter, has guessed the correct winner in half of all series so far. Huh. Go figure. It’s almost as if there’s luck involved in this sport.
Chicago Blackhawks (#3) vs Anaheim Ducks (#1)
Peter: I think this is going to be a terrific series and a stern test of Bruce Boudreau’s coaching skill. But the Hawks are my Cup pick, and they’re just too good to lose. Hawks in 5.
Ian: There’s only one way this year’s playoffs can get more painful. It’s if Bruce Boudreau makes it to the Finals for the first time as a head coach. And guess what? It’s his year. Go Silver-burg (sp?)! Ducks in 6.
Keith, a coin: Ducks
Tampa Bay Lightning (#4) vs New York Rangers (#1)
Peter: New York is a good team, but they’re tuckered out. Tampa is gonna run roughshod over them during 5v5, and as we’ve seen special teams aren’t much of a big deal this postseason. Lightning in 5.
Ian: I’m not quite sure still how the Rangers beat the Capitals last series. Their skaters looked ordinary in game one and never really impressed me at any point during the series. Oh yeah, now I remember why they won: Henrik freaking Lundqvist. No matter how great Tampa is and how much depth they have as a team, no matter great Stephen Stamkos plays, Lundqvist is unbeatable right now. May god have mercy on your soul, Tampa. Rangers in 6.
Keith, a coin: Rangers.
